Hillend Engineering’s FRONT END LOADER (FEL) is an industry icon with a heritage of over 50 years. Today this impressive looking powerhouse is coming back to prominence as an essential component of waste management fleets up and down the country.

Speak to any local authority or private waste management team and they are looking for optimum efficiency for collections. It might sound obvious, but this is an imperative for operators to meet customer KPIs for collection schedules and achieve cost-efficiency at a time when there are ever-increasing pressures on margins.

However, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach for achieving this utopian efficiency when the criteria varies from one waste contractor to the next and is dependent on environmental considerations (rural vs urban) and the ratio of businesses to households. Hillend Engineering are seeing a rise in orders for our FEL, in response to an increase in use of large FEL bins amongst business end-users. The FEL is a fast and efficient way of collecting high volumes of FEL bins and low levels of wheelie bins, at commercial and industrial sites, as the driver can drive straight up to the container without having to reverse and manually connect the vehicle. The driver is higher up, giving maximum visibility as they approach the container.
