Ubico support several local authorities based in the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas, collecting waste and keeping areas clean for residents and visitors. With varied neighbourhoods across the region, food waste vehicles must have the capacity to efficiently cover large swathes of countryside, whilst still having excellent manoeuvrability for narrow high streets and densely populated urban locations.

Forming part of Ubico’s fleet are more than 30 of Hillend Engineering’s MICRO L food waste collection vehicles. After they were first introduced seven years ago, the MICRO L vehicles continue to be put through their paces, often carrying out two collections a day.

Having recently been awarded a new local authority contract, and to cope with the increasing demands of expanding housing developments, Ubico have added a further two MICRO L’s to their operations. The ability to access stock to meet changing needs has also been an important factor in choosing Hillend Engineering.

The MICRO XHD and MICRO L are the latest generation of Hillend Engineering’s food waste collectors, providing an improved single-piece, fully sealed body, with no leaks - guaranteed. The MICRO XHD has a 12-tonne chassis, offering a payload of 5-tonne and a compaction system that ensures optimum payload for each trip.

"In our areas, the vehicle capacity needs to be really good, working across rural areas as well as modern estates. Our employees are familiar with Hillend Engineering’s vehicles, so the choice togowith them was a no-brainer."
